Candle Care Guide – How to Get the Most from Your Lucky Flame
Because a good candle deserves a little love.
Our candles are hand-poured with clean-burning coconut soy wax, phthalate-free fragrance oils, and cotton wicks to give you a beautiful, safe experience. Follow these tips to make every burn smoother, longer, and more luxurious.
🕯️ 1. Trim Your Wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to ¼ inch. This helps prevent smoking, uneven flames, and soot. Don’t skip this step—your future self will thank you.
🔥 2. Let the Wax Pool
The first time you light your candle, let it burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the jar (about 2–3 hours). This sets the “memory” and prevents tunneling.
🧼 3. Keep It Clean
Avoid debris like burnt wick bits or matches in the wax. A clean surface helps your candle burn evenly and safely every time.
⏳ 4. Don't Burn for Too Long
We know it’s tempting, but try not to burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. This protects the vessel and maintains the integrity of the fragrance.
💨 5. Snuff It, Don’t Blow It
Use a candle snuffer to extinguish your flame instead of blowing it out. It keeps the wick in place and prevents hot wax from splashing.
🧊 6. Store in a Cool Place
Keep your candle in a cool, dry space when it’s not in use. This helps preserve the fragrance and prevents sweating or discoloration.
🛑 7. Stop at ½ Inch of Wax
When only half an inch of wax remains, it’s time to retire your candle. Burning it past this point can overheat the jar—and we don’t do drama over here.
♻️ 8. Repurpose the Jar
Once your candle is done, clean out the jar with warm water and dish soap. Use it to hold cotton pads, matches, jewelry, or paperclips—because cute never quits.
✨ Bonus Tip:
Your Lucky Flame candle is handcrafted with love and intention. Treat it like self-care, because that’s exactly what it is.
